Sustainability Management System
- Management System
This document provides a basic framework for a Sustainability Management System (SMS) that can be flexibly adapted and developed in line with our hotel’s management processes. It also defines the related policies. The document is intended for the hotel management team and employees. The management system is designed according to the size and scope of the hotel’s operations.
At the core of our system is risk analysis. Risk assessments are conducted in areas such as the environment, natural disasters, society, culture, economy, quality, human rights, health, and safety. If necessary, new topics can be added to the system.
After assessing the risks, we have a crisis management policy in place to determine the measures to be taken in the event of a risk occurrence. The methods for risk analysis and crisis management are explained in detail in the annex of this document.
The SMS includes ensuring compliance with the policies set in areas such as quality, economy, management, environment, culture, human rights, health, and safety, as well as determining objectives and tracking progress towards these goals. These processes aim at the continuous improvement of the hotel’s management operations.
When set objectives are achieved, new goals are established. In cases where the objectives are not met, our policies and practices are reviewed, and improvements are made. This process is an approach aimed at ensuring the ongoing development of our operations.
The hotel’s goals related to the management system and the performance indicators tracking compliance with these goals are included in the annex of this document.
Our hotel is committed to meeting the first-phase requirements of the Turkey Sustainable Tourism Program and continually improving its sustainability performance through the sustainable management system.
Due to the state of the industry, environmental, social, technological, economic, and cultural risks, as well as legal changes and updates, our management system is constantly reviewed and updated when necessary.
The steps outlined can be summarized as the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle.
Plan: Our hotel sets goals in areas such as the environment, society, culture, national economy, and management system, and creates a roadmap and action plans to achieve these goals.
Do: Our hotel defines its core policies and practices in areas such as the environment, culture, society, human rights, health, and safety. These policies are monitored, measured, and recorded by relevant personnel at regular intervals.
Check: Feedback from staff and guests is regularly monitored and recorded. Corrective actions are taken when necessary.
Act: In this step, the hotel takes action to address identified issues. Corrective actions and processes are recorded and archived.
- Legal Compliance
Our hotel commits to complying with applicable laws, regulations, and international agreements. We maintain an up-to-date list of laws and regulations and regularly inform our staff, providing the necessary training.
The key regulations to be adhered to are listed in Table-3.
When necessary, the hotel provides all permits, certificates, and documents to relevant persons and institutions. These documents include the Tourism Establishment Certificate, Basic Accommodation Tourism Business Certificate, Workplace Opening and Operating License, the most recent employee insurance declaration, tax certificate, emergency action plan, staff training and certifications, and more.
