AKRA Gran Fondo Antalya is an international road cycling event held every spring in Kemer and open to amateur riders of every level. The eighth edition took place on 11–12 April 2026 under the theme “Green Future”: a climbing stage on day one, then a choice of 98 km and 48 km courses on day two. Here’s how the event works and what cyclists should know about staying in Kemer.

AKRA Gran Fondo Antalya at a glance

  • When: every April (2026: 11–12 April, 8th edition)
  • Base: Kemer, Antalya. The 2026 awards ceremony was held at Kemer Olbia Park.
  • Rules: UCI and Turkish Cycling Federation regulations
  • Riders: amateurs of every level from Türkiye and abroad
  • Official site: akragranfondoantalya.org

What is a gran fondo?

Italian for “big distance”, a gran fondo opens the format of professional road racing to amateurs. There are controlled roads, timing, feed stations and official results. For most riders, though, the real goal is finishing the course and beating their own time.

The 2026 courses

Day 1: climbing stage (11 April)

The 17.81 km Fraport TAV Antalya Airport climbing stage, with around 806 metres of elevation gain. It’s short and steep, and a good taste of the mountains that rise straight behind Kemer.

Day 2: AKRA and AG TOHUM courses (12 April)

A choice of the 98 km AKRA course or the 48 km AG TOHUM course, so riders with different goals and fitness levels can race on the same day. The awards ceremony took place at 14:00 on 12 April at Kemer Olbia Park.

Earlier editions drew around 500 riders from 10 countries. Registration for 2026 closed on 7 April. Dates and entry details for the next edition will be published on the official site.

Why Kemer works for cyclists

  • Spring climate: April in Kemer usually brings comfortable riding temperatures while the season is still starting in much of northern Europe.
  • Sea and mountains: the coast road is flat and fast, while the roads inland offer serious climbs.
  • Easy access: Antalya Airport is around an hour from Kemer. Our airport transfer guide is useful if you’re travelling with a bike box.

Accommodation tips for cyclists

  • Ask before you book where your bike and bike box can be stored.
  • Confirm early breakfast and the distance to the start area in advance.
  • Arrive a day or two early for a short opener ride. The coast road is ideal.
