With pine forests running down to the bays and cool plateaus behind the coast, Kemer and its surroundings are one of the most beautiful camping regions on the Mediterranean. Garden campsites in Çıralı and Olympos, beach camps in Adrasan and a growing number of glamping sites offer everything from sleeping in a tent to a comfortable bungalow in nature. This guide covers where to camp around Kemer, the difference between camping and glamping, and what to bring.

Where to camp

Çıralı and Olympos

The region’s best-known camping area, with campsites, bungalows and tree houses among citrus orchards. Their biggest advantages are walking distance to the beach and closeness to ancient Olympos and Yanartaş.

Adrasan

A calm bay and wooded surroundings make it good for beach camping, combined with boat trips and Lycian Way walks. See our Adrasan guide.

Tekirova and around Kemer

Closer to Kemer, you’ll find glamping and bungalow sites in the forest, convenient for Phaselis and Mount Tahtalı.

Rules and safety

  • Camp only where permitted: Much of the area lies inside Beydağları Coastal National Park; camping is allowed only in designated areas.
  • No open fires: Forest fire risk is very high in summer. Fires are allowed only where sites permit them.
  • Sea turtles: On nesting beaches such as Çıralı, don’t camp on the sand or use lights at night.
  • Take your rubbish home: Leave nature as you found it.

What to bring

  • Tent, sleeping bag and mat (not needed for glamping)
  • Head torch and spare batteries
  • Mosquito repellent and sunscreen
  • A warm layer for the evening; forest and plateau nights are cool
  • Enough water and easy-to-prepare food
  • A first-aid kit

Best time to camp

The best months are May–June and September–October. July and August are very hot by day. In winter the coast is mild, but nights can be cool and wet.

Between camping and a hotel

You can be close to nature and still have a hot shower and a comfortable bed every night. Kemer Royal Beach Hotel is in Kemer town centre, about 250 metres from the sea; take day trips to Olympos, Çıralı and Adrasan and relax by the pool in the evening. See our rooms or check availability.
