Kemer’s sea is often glassy in the early morning, which makes it ideal for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). You can paddle along the shore to bays where pine forest meets the water, glide past ancient harbours and watch the sun rise over the mountains from the sea. This guide covers the best spots for kayaking and SUP in Kemer, the best times and safety tips.

Best spots for kayaking and SUP

Moonlight Bay and Kemer Marina

The closest and easiest starting point to the centre. The bay is calm in the morning and good for first-timers. See our Moonlight Park and Beach guide.

Phaselis’ ancient harbours

The three pine-fringed ancient harbours at Phaselis are sheltered and clear, some of the most enjoyable water for paddling. See our Phaselis guide.

Göynük and Beldibi

The long beaches north of Kemer suit calm paddles parallel to the shore.

Tekirova and Çamyuva

The beaches of these southern villages are good for longer coastal paddles on calm mornings.

Best times

  • Early morning: The calmest sea and lightest wind, ideal for sunrise paddles.
  • Afternoon: The wind can pick up; stay close to shore.
  • Season: May–October; in midsummer, go in the morning or late afternoon.

Safety tips

  • Wear a life jacket; on a SUP, use the ankle leash.
  • Don’t head out when the wind blows from land to sea; getting back becomes hard.
  • Stay close to shore, away from busy marinas and swimming-area buoys.
  • Bring sunscreen, a hat and water.
  • If it’s your first time, start with a guided tour.
