The Olympos cable car (Olympos Teleferik) climbs from its lower station near Tekirova to the 2,365-metre summit of Mount Tahtalı in about 10 minutes. From the top you can see the Mediterranean coast, Kemer’s bays and ridge after ridge of the Taurus Mountains. What to do at the summit
- The view: On clear days, the coastline from Kemer to Antalya and the Beydağları range.
- Photos: Above the clouds, with sea and mountains in the same frame.
- Snow: In winter and early spring there can be snow at the top, so you can sunbathe on the coast and touch snow on the same day.

Weather and clothing
- Temperature: The summit is much cooler than the coast; bring a layer even in summer.
- Wind: It can be strong at the top; a windbreaker helps.
- Clouds: The summit often clouds over in the afternoon; go in the morning for the clearest views.
- Winter: Snow and wind can stop the cable car; confirm it is running before you set out.
Hiking around Tahtalı
Forest roads on Tahtalı’s lower slopes and stages of the Lycian Way offer good hiking. For long, demanding routes, go with a guide and carry plenty of water and sun protection. Tahtalı also hosts the Run to Sky race from Çıralı beach to the summit each May and the Sea to Sky enduro each October.
