Moonlight Park and Beach (Ayışığı Parkı) is a seaside park in Kemer town centre, right next to the marina, stretching along the shore in the shade of pine trees. It is the town’s favourite place for a swim, an evening walk and the sunset. Nearby are the remains of ancient Idyros and Yörük Park. This guide covers what to do at Moonlight Park, the best sunset spots in Kemer and what is nearby.

Things to do

Swim

Moonlight Beach is the most popular beach in the centre, with clear water, a pebble-and-sand shore and pines behind. Sunbeds and umbrellas can be rented; summer mornings are quieter.

Evening walk

The path along the beach makes a lovely evening walk from the marina to the end of the park. As the sun goes down it cools off, the cafés fill up and the promenade comes alive with families and couples.

Ancient Idyros

Remains of the ancient settlement of Idyros, including a Byzantine-era basilica with floor mosaics, can be seen near the marina. It is a short, free stop that shows Kemer’s long history.

Yörük Park

Close to Moonlight Park, Yörük Park is an open-air museum of the nomadic Yörük way of life, with tents and crafts. See our Yörük Park guide.

The marina

Stroll among the yachts at Kemer Marina, dine with a sea view and catch a daily boat trip. See our boat tours guide.

Best sunset spots in Kemer

  • Moonlight Beach: The sun sets behind the mountains, lighting the bay and the Taurus range in orange.
  • The marina breakwater: Good for photos with yachts and mountains.
  • Kemer coast road: Quiet spots along the shore north and south of the centre.
  • Çıralı: Further away, for a calm, natural sunset. See our Olympos and Çıralı guide.

Visiting tips

  • Summer: Midday is hot and busy; mornings and late afternoons are nicer.
  • Water shoes: Helpful on the pebbles.
  • Sunset time: Around 20:00 in summer and 17:00 in winter; the light fades a little earlier behind the mountains.
  • Winter: The park is a lovely walk on sunny winter afternoons too.
